Cindy Baron is one of a rare breed of artists, one who is nationally recognized as a master in two mediums – watercolors and oils. Her passion in the arts, however, began with pastels. She describes herself as a “blended traditionalist,” and able to capture the beauty of a landscape with sensitive brushwork in one of several mediums. Raised in South Bend, Indiana, and currently living in Rhode Island, she has had the experience of living and painting all over the country, capturing both the grand landscapes of the western mountains and bi-coastal shorelines.
Her paintings reflect the beauty that is found in nature, if you take the time to study the colors around you. She can capture beauty in a blustering storm or the tranquil air of everyday places. Her portraits relay a story of human life as though they were family or friend. The versatility of mediums and subjects, keep her energized, excited and creative. She finds that each medium has influenced the other, which gives her paintings a distinctive feel of their own.
